Carnival and Musicianship Exam Deadline and Instructions

Reminder to all teachers:

Musicianship Exam Registration deadline is postmark by FEBRUARY 27, 2017, sent to Dianne Johnston, PO Box 655, Kingston, WA 98346.

A new page has been added to our website: Musicianship Exam Registration and Preparation. There you will find detailed instructions about using the spreadsheet forms from WSMTA to register students for Carnival events (Musicianship Exams), and links to teaching resources to help your students prepare. If you know of other resources, send the information to: Dianne Johnston diannej23@comcast.net.

We have a wonderful core group of teachers who have volunteered in various positions. Thank you!! We still need more help to make this event a success. A few more teachers are needed, so if you have not yet volunteered, please contact Debra Florian. We will find a position for you — and a colorful top hat and bow tie! Even if you’ve never participated before, this is a great opportunity to come check it out! We are also in need of some parent and student volunteers (age 14 and up).

We will again have table games for varying levels set up in the gym—there will again be a ribbon for theory games. If you have a great game that you use in your studio group lessons, and would bring it for the Carnival, please email Debra. The game tables will all be supervised by student helpers,so will be well taken care of.

It is the responsibility of each teacher to prepare your students to be successful. The WSMTA handbook is a great resource. It is also the responsibility of each teacher to be checking the KMTA website and your email for regular updates in the weeks preceding the Carnival. There will be a lot of information available, as well as letters to be sent home with students, and time-sensitive preparations to be taken care of prior to Carnival Day. Questions: Call or email Debra or Dianne.
