Kitsap Young Musicians Festival
An annual cornerstone of our musical community, the Kitsap Young Musicians Festival celebrates the dedication and artistry of students across the peninsula. This warm, non-competitive day of recitals provides a space for students at all levels to share their progress and build lasting musical connections.

DATE AND LOCATION
The location is often St. Antony of Egypt Church in Silverdale. Dates (usually early November) and times vary each year. They are published in the Quavers e-newsletter for teachers and on the annual calendar.

PARTICIPATION
Open to students of all levels studying with KMTA teachers. Solo and ensemble performances are welcomed. Teachers register and schedule students within their own studios.
2026 Event Details & Schedule
Kitsap Young Musicians Festival
The Kitsap Young Musicians Festival (KYMF) will be on Saturday, November 7, at Saint Antony of Egypt Episcopal Church in Silverdale.
We anticipate having five recitals again this year: 9:00 AM, 10:30 AM, 12:00 PM and 1:30 and 3:00 PM. Sign-ups will be limited to 60 minutes total playing time.
Registration will open on Sunday, September 13. You will receive a link to Sign up Genius via KMTA to reserve time for your students. This link will also be available on the Members Only section of the KMTA website.
IMPORTANT: Please confirm availability and a close approximation of performance time BEFORE you sign up your students. Be sure you confirm with them that they are available for a specific recital time. We want to be sure all members have an equal chance to sign up some students. The purpose of the festival is not only to give our students an opportunity to perform for us and their families, but also to hear students from other studios.
The registration period is flexible. You don’t have to register all of your students at once. You can sign up the most-prepared students first, then see how others are coming along and add them later (anytime on or before October 17). Adding more students or switching times is not an option once registration has closed.
Registration will close on Saturday, October 17. The following week, you’ll receive a form to complete and return to me, listing program information for your participating students. One standard Excel form for each studio. This form will be due back to me via email by October 24. I’ll send draft programs to participating teachers on October 31 for your review.
PAYMENT: When you receive your program information form, I’ll include the amount owed for your studio. You may give your check to me (Krista Seely) at KYMF on November 7 or you may mail your payment to KMTA, c/o Jane Melin, P.O. Box 1012, Kingston WA 98346.
Permission and Liability waivers will be required for all student performers. We will use the standard online PP&L forms that you’re familiar with from Carnival and other KMTA events. The form must be completed by a parent or legal guardian BEFORE the festival. One form can be used for all members of a family. It is the teacher’s responsibility to share the link with parents of participating students.
Feel free to email me with questions regarding registration and other festival topics.
I’m looking forward to another festival with inspiring student performances in November. The festival is free and open to the public, so please invite your students and families, friends and neighbors!
Krista Seely, Festival Chair
